We R Dancing | Dance Stage Production
We R Dancing was a 2 Day dance festival; an initiative by Aalokam Dance Productions, USA. Curated by Maya Kulkarni, the segment “I Dance thus I Am” featured a live dance performance by Kathak artist and choreographer Jin Won at the Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theater, Symphony Space, NYC. The mesmerizing music created by Rushi Vakil thoughtfully weaved the famous thumri ‘Babul Mora Naihar Chooto Jaye’ which stood as a metaphor to depict the longing of a dancer as she unfolds her inner longing to dance to the rhythm of her soul, free from the rule- bound world of conventions and dance techniques.
